Yohanes 1:15

1:15 John ¹  testified ²  about him and shouted out, ³  “This one was the one about whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is greater than I am, ⁴  because he existed before me.’”

Yohanes 1:27

1:27 who is coming after me. I am not worthy ⁵  to untie the strap ⁶  of his sandal!”

1:30 This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is greater than I am, ⁷  because he existed before me.’

Yohanes 5:21-25

5:21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, ⁸  so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes. ⁹  5:22 Furthermore, the Father does not judge ¹⁰  anyone, but has assigned ¹¹  all judgment to the Son, 5:23 so that all people ¹²  will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

5:24 “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹³  the one who hears ¹⁴  my message ¹⁵  and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, ¹⁶  but has crossed over from death to life. 5:25 I tell you the solemn truth, ¹⁷  a time ¹⁸  is coming – and is now here – when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

[1:27]  sn The humility of John is evident in the statement I am not worthy. This was considered one of the least worthy tasks of a slave, and John did not consider himself worthy to do even that for the one to come, despite the fact he himself was a prophet.

[1:27]  ⁶ tn The term refers to the leather strap or thong used to bind a sandal. This is often viewed as a collective singular and translated as a plural, “the straps of his sandals,” but it may be more emphatic to retain the singular here.
